Our History
BHA began in 1985, then known as Brooks-Harbour and Associates, under the joint ownership of Rick Brooks, Bob Harbour, Roger Comeaux, and Jay Cefalu. These founding owners brought a variety of knowledge and experience to the company. Mr. Brooks left the firm in the early 1990's to pursue a more focused career in forensic engineering. A few years after his departure the company name was changed to BHA, as it is known today.
The engineering services provided in those early days were much the same as those currently provided. BHA's goal was and still is, to provide professional engineering services to electric utilities and to develop long-lasting relationships with clients. Most of those early clients continue to utilize BHA's professional services to this day.
In February of 2024, BHA was acquired by Booth and Associates, a utility consulting engineering firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. BHA, coupled with Booth's far-ranging expertise, resources, and decades of experience, is able to provide a wider range of professional engineering services, both now and in the future.
BHA's management philosophy has always been employee-centered with the goal of providing a workplace that would attract longtime, career minded employees.
Our parent company, Booth & Associates proudly belongs to PrimeLine Utility Services, a leading provider in the utility services field. Alongside our sister companies, we are the most successful and reputable contractors in our business. Customers rely on our companies to deliver turn-key solutions that help solve their day-to-day challenges and planned growth.
BHA is a subsidiary of Booth & Associates. Through the years, Booth has been expanding and serving clients all over the country. Our home base is in Raleigh, NC, and we have opened offices in Charlotte, NC, Summerville, SC, Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX and Baton Rouge, LA. This expansion has enabled us to serve new clients in new areas, and increase our projects.
In 2018, VINCI Energies, one of the largest construction companies in the world, acquired PrimeLine Utility Services and all of its subsidiaries, including Booth & Associates. Their endorsement provides the financial support to enable Booth and BHA to continue to provide the best personal service possible to our customers, while giving us the freedom to keep innovating turn-key solutions for our clients.

Our team consists of degreed engineers across multiple disciplines, including: electrical, mechanical, civil, structural and environmental engineering, professional land surveyors, and system study experts.
